well to make eyes look brighter use a concealer to cover up those nasty under eye circles! then use eyeliner (i have brown eyes and people say that brown eyes pop when you use purple, blue, or green) and outline your top lashes, but stop where your eyelashes end. for the bottom start at the outer corner and go about halfway or maybe a little less then halfway of your eye. this will make it look bigger! if you outline your whole entire eye it will look smaller and not pretty. nobody wants that. for your new mascara well... run your mascara brush in a zig-zag motion across those lashes! i sometimes do 1-2 coats with my mascara which is the fiberwig mascara. hope this helps!

  • Anybody have some tips for a nice smokey eye?

i love the dark, smokey eye look.

but a lot of people tell me i wear too much.

i want a look where it still has that smokey eye but just not as much make up.

anybody have some tips??Anybody have some tips for a nice smokey eye?
go on youtube and watch the one by michelle phan. her videos r the best evrrr!Anybody have some tips for a nice smokey eye?
    1. Remember to keep lips nude. When applying strong makeup (like smoky eyes or red lips) put the focus on either eyes or lips, never both. (Think Angelina Jolie: She either plays up her huge eyes or her huge lips, never both. If she did, she'd look like a clown).

    2. For a bit of fun, try a blue or purple mascara. It will make blue eyes ';pop.';

    3. Liner doesn't have to come in pencil form. Makeup experts know eyeshadows make some of the best eyeliners. To do this take an eyeliner brush (available at Sephora, MAC or any dept store), wet it, then dab wet brush into the dark shadow. This allows for a deep, precise line. You can also use the dark shadows without wetting brush first. Either way, eyeliner is necessary for smoky eye.

    4. This season go jewel-toned (blue is great for you blue-eyed girls) and keep your eyes smoky but stay away from dark browns and black. Instead, go for a deep purple, a gold-brown or any of the many vibrant colors in this year.
Go with a smokey purple or drk blue and grays instead of black sometimes. focus on keeping the inner part of the lid as bright and maybe even shimmery (if you like shimmers) as possible so that you don't close the eye or overdramatize it. Panacea81 on youtube has fantabulous instructional vids. If you have a Sephora near you, I highly recommend the Stila smokey eye kit. The colors are great, the shadows are smooth and it actually talks you thru how to create the look.
Stay away from blue hues, which can make you look like you have undereye circles. Instead, go for black, gray, brown or if you want ';color,'; dark green shadows and liners. Then, follow these steps:

    1. Apply a cream concealer over your eyelid to create a smooth base for your eyeshadow. Foundation and primer work just as well, too.

    2. Use a pencil liner (black or gray looks best) to trace your top lashline from the inner corner to the outer. Then, use the same pencil to dot between your lower lashes. Be sure to not get too close to your tear duct, or your eyes will look smaller. Smudge both lashlines with a cotton swab or an eyeliner brush.

    3. Sweep powder shadow (brown, gray and dark green all work with black or gray liner) over your lid and into your crease, blending the color up and outward.

    4. Dust a lighter, neutral eyeshadow (such as ivory) over just your browbone.

    5. Finish with two coats of black mascara.
for smokey eyes i use a double ended eyeliner and eyeshadow the eyeshadow is in a steel smoke colour and the eyeliner is a sort of browny grey colour which looks really good as you don't have to put much on to make it work good

Is there an expert in the house? give a girl some tips on eye-lash curling?

no idea how to do it. deathly terrified. haven't bought anything either. are you an expert? Is there an expert in the house? give a girl some tips on eye-lash curling?
It is very simple.Just trust yourself, and do it.There are many ways that some will tell you ,but I can start with the basic. When you put the curler up to your eye, open and put your lashes in.Make sure that's all you have and no skin.. Start as close to the bottom of lashes as you can. Squeeze and hold for about 10 seconds. Then move the curler up to halfway and do the same thing and hold for 5 to 10 sec. The go to the edge of lashes and do the same.. Practice makes perfect! Is there an expert in the house? give a girl some tips on eye-lash curling?
Thank you, hope you got it by now!! Report Abuse

First of all, buy a basic curler by ';Maybelline';. Then, hold it in front of your lashes, slowly move it towards you until your lashes are floating halfway through the the curler, and press down gently. Keep holding the curler closed on your lashes about..12 Seconds. Then gently open the curler and release the lashes. You should see some nice results. Good luck! From Kat
I guess it can be an intimidating thing, lol. Don't worry- it's easy. Just go to a drug store or something and in the makeup section- they'll for sure have eyelash curlers. Purchase one, for starters. To use it you just have to align it with your eyelashes and hold it clamped shut for around ten seconds or so. It's best to curl before you apply mascara as if you curl after mascara, eyelash breakage has been known to occur. Though, I tend to curl my eyelashes before mascara and after mascara- I've never had any problems! I hope this has helped you at least some what. Best of luck!
just buy a metal eyelash curler and if u want heat it up with a hair dryer(this will give u a better result)and clamp lashes to the back but not all the way so you dont break your lashes!

    hope i helped!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yea i am what you do is go to walmart and pic up an eyelash curler or have your mom help your or something but yea it doesn't hurt one bit trust me :P but before you curl it i suggest you put mascara on it so your curls will stay up lol

    good luck !!! love ya

Any tips for blending eye-shadow with noticible effect?

i like the blending at least 3 to 4 colors together.Any tips for blending eye-shadow with noticible effect?
You should have an eye makeup set with the correct coordinated colors. Almay, Revlon, and L'Or茅al are some good brands to purchase from. Go to their websites (almay.com, revlon.com, %26amp; lorealparisusa.com) to get more information on which colors you should choose.

The darkest shade in the kit is like a base. Cover your entire lid with it. For the most part, it will be a matte color that doesn't stand out too much. Make sure you don't apply over the crease of your eye. The next color goes on the crease of your eye, which should be a line over the base color. If your have a 4-color kit, the next color can be use on the inner corner of your eyes. Remember to blend all of these colors together. The very last color looks best underneath your eyebrow. Make sure you apply each color lightly-- heavy eyeshadow looks messy and mediocre. Be sure everything is blended well.

Remember that these tips give a dramatic and colorful affect, not necessarily something that should be used in everyday/casual situations.Any tips for blending eye-shadow with noticible effect?
Choose your colors, place them where you want them without worrying if they're blended. Then, using a blender brush like this one: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>

    Blend section by section
There is a great website at maybelline.com and it shows you step to step here. If you have close-set,wide-set,small,no crease, or deep set eyes, it shows you step by step which colors are preferably the best to use and where to apply and bring out your eyes. Sorry i couldn't explain it here, but go to http://www.maybelline.com/getthelook/how鈥?/a> and look at the steps on using different shadows to make your eyes look noticable.
do like a smoky eyes thing..this way you can blend like a deep grey and black..if you want you can always add a color
get a blending stick and smudge the edge of the colors together, it also works to give the eye a smokey effect

hope i helped!Any tips for my eye make-up?
If you have a brush for lip gloss then use it with a dark shade of eyeshadow and dab it on your bottom lash line :)

    use something like this:

    http://www.gsneeds.com/shopping/img/lip_鈥?/a>

and here is a pic of me of how it turns out:

    http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a139/M鈥?/a>

so it looks like i have eyeshadow underneath.
I know how u feel when I didnt know, I would litteraly put the shadow right under my my eye instead of at the lash line, use a good brush, and apply it as you would eyeliner+
the best makeup i like doing is --

    start by putting kohl/eyeliner in the insides of your eyelids and a thin line on the top and also do this pointy pattern thing on your tear drops ill show u an example of it below %26gt;%26gt;

    http://www.albom.qatarw.com/data/media/8鈥?/a>

and then dark eyeshadow on top of your eyelids and on the outside and under eyebrows use highlighter or white eyeshadow.

use a good thin brush so it wont be messy, and also leave foundatin till last so if you smudge while doing this you can always rub it off.

    gud luck :)

Getting contacts, SCARED! I know the eye doctor will show me how, but do any contact wearers have any tips?

I also have a question, I do rub my eyes frequently, is this a big problem?

Also, if you take a nap during the day one day, is it harmful if your wearing contacts?

Getting contacts, SCARED! I know the eye doctor will show me how, but do any contact wearers have any tips?
I have been wearing contacts for about 6 years as a substitute for my glasses.

Be very hygienic when changing, removing and handling your contact lenses. It'll be uncomfortable at first but i tell you when you get used to it, it is as though its not there. Ask for a lubricating eye drops from your doctor, contact lenses can be very irritating when it lacks moisture, and if the weather is cold. DO NOT SLEEP with your contacts on. though, depending on the kind of contacts your doctor will be providing, i suggest AVOID sleeping with your contacts on. Make it a habit to remove them. If your just napping, well i guess it's ok. I used to take a nap with my contacts however it is not advisable. If your getting disposables, make sure not to reuse them, or if you have the extended wear, make sure to clean them in fresh solution.

I also carry around a small pouch with a small bottle of solution and a contact lens container anywhere i go- for emergencies and if your doctor is giving you the extended wear ones. make sure to ask your doctor to give you a pair of disposable ones just to put inside your bag, and carry anywhere together with your solution and the empty case, in this way, if you need a changing or the contacts your wearing becomes really uncomfortable you can change it on the go, or if there's an unexpected activity or sleepovers you have an extra pair to use. Getting contacts, SCARED! I know the eye doctor will show me how, but do any contact wearers have any tips?
I got mine when i was 10.... 10 year olds are very irressponsible and I turned out fine =) They are very easy for me, just remember to take them out at night unless you get the special kind where you can sleep in them. (Which I would doubt your eye doctor would give you if your just getting contacts for the first time) And get soft contacts!!! Never had the hard kind but they look very painful, (soft arent)
dont get scared...its ok if u rub ur eyes i do that everytime wen i wear them nothing happens

nd if u take nap its ok its not harmful

i once had to stay at hospital nd i didnt have my glasses wd me so i wore them for 1 day nd slept nd nothing happened

if ur contacts irritate u rinse them wd the solution

tip:plz dont buy jhonsons company contacts they r not good

    hope i helped

you CANT take naps in contacts...or sleep.... and rubbing your eyes will only move your contacts around, but it may make it a little harder to adjust to. You shouldnt rub your eyes, other than that, contacts are easy DON'T worry about it! i am fairly new to getting them, buti do know a little. If you do take a nap, this could cause infection...
yes it is harmful to wear contacts to sleep even if just a nap.

rubbing your eyes should not be a problem

it's not scary at all!!! it might hurts for the first few days but if you don't wear them you'll never get used to them
If you rub your eyes a lot you just have to rub gently because if you rub too hard the lens will fold in your eye and you might tear it. If you have the extended wear contacts you will be find taking a nap.

Any tips on how to get rid of under-eye circles on a budget??

I'm a teenager and quite pale, it's so annoying not being able to find a concealer that works well enough...

And just having them in the first place! Help!Any tips on how to get rid of under-eye circles on a budget??
place sliced (refrigerated) cucumber slices on your eyes for about 10 minutes.Any tips on how to get rid of under-eye circles on a budget??
Try using a normal concealer first and blend in well. Then add a light reflecting concealer over the top. They usually come in the form of a concealer pen. Tesco do a good one for a fiver x
Get plenty of sleep, drink lots of water (ideally at least 2 litres/8 glasses a day) to get rid of the circles and stop them appearing. To relieve them in the meantime, you can lie down with slices of cucumber or cold used teabags on your eyes (preferably chamomile teabags but I believe ordinary ones work too).
never seen under-eye circles on a budget, by the wat what is a budget?
I'd try cutcumber, or hold ice on your lower eye lid, helps me.
    go to bed earlier
Drink lots of water and avoid caffeine and late nights. If you use concealer you'll be pulling the delicate eye area and could make it worse. Also, relax with old tea bags or slices of cucumber over your eyes.
ON THE BUDGET IT DOESN'T COME OUT TILL MARCH NEXT YEAR
well i could say put cocmbers or cold stuf so that they are going to be less obvious.. add concealer... sleep more and make people notice better ur eyelidz by appling good make up
